After anti-wrinkle treatment

• Stay upright for four hours. No lying flat and no face-down massage.
• No exercise, sauna, steam or very hot showers for twenty-four hours.
• Do not rub or massage the treated area — the product can move where you do not want it.
• The effect appears gradually from day three and settles by day fourteen. Judge it then, not on day two.
• Masseter treatment is slower still: expect the change between weeks two and four.

After lip filler

• Swelling peaks in the first twenty-four to forty-eight hours. What you see on day one is not the result.
• Bruising is possible and is not a complication. Arnica helps some people.
• Ice gently over a cloth, ten minutes at a time, for the first evening.
• Avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, saunas and flying for twenty-four hours.
• No lip products, straws or kissing for the first twelve hours.
• The final shape is at two weeks. Do not book a review before then.

After skin boosters and polynucleotides

• Small raised bumps at each injection point are expected and settle within a day.
• No makeup for twelve hours, and no active skincare — acids, retinol, vitamin C — for forty-eight.
• Sun protection matters here more than anywhere else. These treatments work on the skin itself.
• The result builds over the course, not after the first session.

When to get in touch immediately

Contact the clinic straight away, and do not wait to see whether it settles, if you experience any of the following:

• Skin that turns white, grey, mottled or dusky around a filler site.
• Pain that increases rather than decreases after the first few hours.
• Any change to your vision.
• Spreading redness, heat or swelling after day three, or a fever.
• Drooping of the eyelid or brow after anti-wrinkle treatment.
