Questions
These are the questions clients actually ask me — including the ones people are embarrassed to ask. Answered straight.
The things you are actually worried about
Will I look overdone?
Not in my chair. I dose conservatively, build over time, and I’d always rather you come back for more than walk out with too much. Being overfilled makes you look older, not younger — and properly placed filler shouldn’t be easy to spot. If a result is ever more than you wanted, I can dissolve it: that’s a bookable appointment at £180, not a line in the small print.
I want a change but filler scares me. Is there anything else?
The lip flip. I relax the muscle around your mouth so your top lip rolls out slightly — softer and more defined, using only your own lip. No filler, small commitment, wears off. Ask me about it at your consultation.
Am I too young, or too old?
Eighteen is the legal minimum in the UK, and there’s no upper limit. What’s right for your face comes out of a consultation — and sometimes my honest answer is that you don’t need anything yet. I’ll tell you that for free.
What the treatments are
What actually is an anti-wrinkle treatment?
A purified protein that temporarily relaxes the muscle under a line. The muscle stops contracting so hard, the skin over it stops creasing, and existing lines soften. It wears off over three to four months, and then you decide if you want it again.
How long does it last?
Anti-wrinkle treatment: three to four months. Masseter: four to six. Lip filler: six to nine months. Cheek and chin filler: often over a year. Skin boosters run as a course, then top up every six months or so.
Why is masseter treatment on a cosmetic price list?
Because it does two jobs. The masseter is the big chewing muscle at the side of your jaw. Relaxing it stops clenching and grinding — your dentist will thank me — and it gradually softens a wide or square jawline at the same time. The effect builds from week two to week four rather than appearing overnight.
Practicalities
Does it hurt?
Less than you’re imagining. My lip filler contains lidocaine, so you go numb as I work. Anti-wrinkle treatment is a few seconds with a very fine needle — most clients tell me it was nothing like they’d built it up to be. I won’t tell you it’s nothing, but it’s quick.
Can I go back to work afterwards?
After anti-wrinkle treatment, yes — there’s very little to see. Lips swell for twenty-four to forty-eight hours and can bruise, so don’t book them the week of a wedding, a holiday, or anything with a camera.
Money
I had filler somewhere else and I hate it. Can you fix it?
Yes — this is one of the most common reasons people find me. I dissolve the old filler with hyaluronidase (£180), and if you want your lips rebuilt properly, dissolve and refill with 1ml two weeks later is £300. The two-week wait isn’t optional: your tissue needs to settle before anything new goes in.
Why do you publish your prices?
Because the number should be the same whoever asks. Published prices mean you can work out what you can afford before you ever speak to me — which, if you’ve ever hovered over a “DM for prices” post without sending the message, is exactly the problem I’m trying to fix.
